Well, I've noticed in other posts that some are going to walk with their class in '06 and others will not. So, the question stands, will you walk with your class after a year at 'SC or will you be cheering on your friends from the stands?
I have yet to decide, and the administration has yet to make a definitive answer. But I'll take English and American Gov over the summer just in case. While I was signing up for English 4, I realized that only incredibly lazy/stupid kids who fail bone-head English during their senior year would be taking it during summer school, so needless to say I was spoken to like I had just gotten off the short bus, and it made me chuckle...if they only knew :)

I just found out that I don't need to do internship or IB stuff to get a high school diploma. Maybe I was so eager to leave high school that I didn't think about how easier it was to get a high school diploma than I originally believed. Let's just hope I don't get kicked out of USC. :)
I will cheer from the stands.
Where are you taking English and American Gov? Are they offered in the summer by your HS?
For me, I'll have to do econ by independent study (it's also usually only for seniors who failed) and convince them to give me English credit for a USC writing class.
I'm along the lines with elliot. Along with my 7 classes right now, I'm independent studying American gov and econ (only a week left to finish it all!!!) and then hopefully they'll transfer English. I would really like a diploma from my high school.
Even so, though I'm not sure, it seems like I will still be cheering from the stands. It would be too weird to come after a year just to walk...
yeah.. i'm just dropping and i dont care too much haha
i wonder how that sounds ...
15 yrs from now "i have a masters in _____ but... no diplomma!"
yeah i kind of like the idea of contradicting the stats that say that highschool graduates typically earn twice the annual income than those who never graduate. there's a poster on the wall of my counselors office that says something to that effect and i laugh when i see it.
at my school we have an independent study school located on campus (like public homeschooling i guess) anyway, you can be co-enrolled and the classes are really easy. it takes 4-8 weeks to finish an entire semester class (depending on how fast you want to work) so taking two this summer and one next May wouldn't be difficult at all. they're just really boring because you're basically just teaching yourself out of the book (wait, that's what i do in half of my classes anyway :/
No walkling for me. Switching schools in the middle of High School has some definite disadvantages. Since my old school district had radically different graduation requirements I am missing two years of PE and sme other wierd stuff, so short of taking way too many strange summer classes I am not allowed to graduate from this school. Oh well.
I'm pretty sure I'll be walking with my class since I'll be heading home for a few weeks in the summer anyways. I have almost all of the credits I need now, but since I had to get out of IB, I have to now take Government and Economics; the other class I'm taking is English lit. But man, it sucks, some days I have classes from 9:45 AM to 8 PM.
And I also now have to take Life Management Skills and Personal Fitness online, one each semester, because I can't figure out for myself that drugs are bad. Oh well, just spurs me on more for when I head to USC!

john, do you mean you're taking classes in the summer?
where are you taking classes online?
eh, last week i decided to drop my english 4 class and just never graduate. basically i'm a lazy bum who doesn't want to do english over the summer(ironically i'm still doing calc 3 and american gov, but oh well). i was at Hume Lake (Christian camp) and i figured that i'd rather go kayaking and wandering around than sitting there all week doing homework.
Yeah, I'm taking classes at the local college over the summer. I'm prolly gonna take Life Management skills the first semester online at Okaloosa on-line high school and personal fitness the second, same place.
And my name's Sean Nelson, John Selson's just an alias I use on my parody blog.
